It has been almost three years since we’ve seen Nate Diaz from the Octagon, but he makes his return against Anthony”Showtime” Pettis in the co-main occasion at UFC 241 at the Honda Center at Anaheim, California on August 18. Pettis made his UFC welterweight introduction last time out in March, which makes the jump from lightweight, and he became the first person to knock out Stephen Thompson.
Online sportsbook BetOnline has put the odds as a pick’em with both fighters.
Anthony Pettis was around a win-one, lose-one streak on his last seven fights and hasn’t earned back-to-back successes because he won five in a row by 2011 to 2014. He’s been an underdog in every one of his last 3 fights and had near pick’em chances in his weight reduction to Dustin Poirier at November 2017.
Diaz hasn’t been favored to Josh Thomson at 2013, a period of five fights since his weight reduction. He cried with Conor McGregor as also a +300 underdog in his first battle plus a +315 underdog vs Michael Johnson.
Pettis definitely was the active fighter lately so there’s enormous value on Showtime, if you believe in ring rust.
These are excellent grappling abilities just two fighters, with wonderful cardio and great. Pettis is much more creative and has really strong kicks, while Diaz is long and he mocks his opponents whenever they step backwards as he would rather get into a phone booth and swap hands. Diaz does a terrific job throwing mixes and flurries of punches which use on his foes.
The road to victory for Pettis is assaulting the direct leg of Diaz, although I feel the Stockton native should back Showtime against the weapon and wear on him with punches in bunches and clinch work to deserve the win.
Odds in BetOnline at August 2
