Ireland fly-half Joey Carbery has declared himself fully fit ahead of Saturdays Pool A decider from Samoa.
Was brought despite carrying a foot injury and states he is about to repay the faith.
Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt desired Carbery within his squad and backed him to shake off the ligament problem he suffered in in Augusts 29-10 victory over Italy at Dublin – regardless of fears that he could miss the tournament.
Then, although the 23-year-old came off the bench to the host nation, Japan from the 19-12 loss aggravated his issue and has been a late withdrawal in the triumph over Russia.
But Carbery has received atremendous confidence boost before Saturdays game, he says, after training entirely and with no impediment on Tuesday.
Hopefully Im 100 per cent today, it has been a pretty frustrating year with injuries, said Carbery.
But Im fully back now and feel back to myself because I had been. I guess I can just get back out there and do what I have been doing.
I guess with the time of the accident before we left Japan, along with the nature of it too, it was always going to be a small frustration.
But to be fair I was lucky enough to even be contemplated and that I did get on the airplane.
The coaches demonstrated a lot of faith in me and I am really thankful for it. I wish to repay that faith. I need to go outside and perform the job and reveal they werent wrong; thats definitely in the back of my mind.
