Top-of-the-league Rangershave every opportunity of finish Celtics eight-year reign of dominance in the Premiership this year, according to preceding Hoops striker Andy Walker.
Celtic dropped behind their Glasgow rivals at the league table this weekend after Sundays 2-0 defeat together with Rangers.
Rangers are in good form since losing to Celtic at Ibrox, winning half of the previous seven matches, and Walker believes – regardless of the winnersmonetary advantage – the Gers will take the title race into the wire.
I feel this will be a great season, Walker told Sky Sports News.
I think you have to respect Rangers and the way theyve responded. Aside from the [Europa League] defeat Young Boys, their response has been terrific.
I dont think were going to see several things composed by Celtic and Rangers. Ironically, Celtic have followed a draw using a beat. I think theyre going to prove to be very debilitating in their pursuit for the name.
In case Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe steer away from injury I think Rangers have each opportunity [of winning the title]. I think to front from mid theyre creating chances. Connor Goldson is currently looking strong at the back but hes also popping up with two or a regular target.
The response since losing to Celtic was absolutely first class. And, make no doubtthe title race is still going into the end of the year
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard cautioned his players not to havetaken away after Sundays triumph as they push for their initial Scottish Premiership title because 2011.
Gerrards correct to downplay talk of a title race, added Walker.
But the fans are talking about it each day – never mind every week because they are desperate to see their team stop Celtic get their ninth [title in a row].
Celtic have the benefit in a financial sense. Arguably, they have a squad.
It is perhaps somewhat surprising that Neil Lennon hasnt utilised that squad somewhat more because he has to have known that Livingston would have made it a fight – and the players were not ready for it.
it is a real increase for Steven Gerrard to observe how his players have responded because that defeat Celtic at Ibrox.
