Former world # 1 Andy Murray was given a wild card for the Shanghai Pros of following month.
The three-time Grand Slam winner has been currently continuing his comeback – this summer, having eased his way back into activity by playing doubles.
He’s set for a busy fall including three straight months in China, starting in Zhuhai and Beijing, and culminating in the Shanghai Masters, where he is a winner.
He said:”I’m looking forward to be going back to Shanghai, a championship I have had success in in the past – the last time I had been there was at 2016.
“Due to this championship to get a wild card, then it is great to have the ability to continue my comeback and play tennis in China.
“Shanghai is a good city, I’m comfortable there and the lovers are almost always supportive.”
Murray suffered first round leaves since the second operation on his hip in the Winston-Salem Open in his first singles excursions along with the Cincinnati Masters.
He then played a Challenger event where he attained the final 16 before bowing out.
The Zhuhai Championships start on September 23 – and Murray has signed for the European Open.
