As the Green Bay Packers defeat the Oakland Raiders 35-17 to proceed to 6-1, aaron Rodgers threw for 429 yards and five touchdowns and ran for one more.
Rodgers had his best game of the season, throwing scores to five unique recipients since he continues to increase in a new system with rookie head coach Matt LaFleur and finishing 25 of 31 passes.
Derek Carr needed a largely efficient day departure for Oakland – he completed 22 of 28 passes for 293 yards and 2 touchdowns – but a costly fumble out of Green Bays end zone before the half had been a turning point in the match and a late interception tarnished his stat line.
There were promising early signs as rookie running back Josh Jacobs – that ended the game with 124 rushing yards – broke free for 42 yards on the next play of the match, resulting in a Daniel Carlson area goal.
After Rodgers had fired straight back, kicking off his strong afternoon with a 21-yard pass to Aaron Jones which demanded an outstanding winding catch in the trunk, Oakland took the lead for another time when they assembled an outstanding 14-play, 101-yard drive that resulted in a Carr touchdown pass to Foster Moreau – his inaugural direct completion.
The initial half contest continued when Rodgers drove his team 75 yards the other way in 11 plays threw his second straight dent to Jamaal Williams to a working back – now a two-yard flip to put the Packers up 14-10.
With three minutes until the half, the Raiders had lots of time to respond, and they did promptly as 48 yards raced to the Packers goal-line. However, from them both, as he reached for the pylon Carr wrapped and tucked the ball run but lost control. The end result has been a touchback and Green Bays ball.
Rodgers needed to utilize, but he struck three straight passes of the final resulting in a touchdown into Jake Kumerow that tip-toed down the right sideline until the half.
The Packers expanded his lead since Rodgers was perfect on a push after getting the ball to begin the second.
On the very first play of the halfhe launched a heavy ball to Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a 59-yard profit, and afterwards Geronimo Allison was deemed to have resigned from bounds bashful of the goal-line, Rodgers took the ball himself and finished the drive with a three-yard run.
Although the Raiders had a different score – with Carr discovering Waller from seven metres out on another Raiders push – Rodgers added into his outstanding day using a three-yard touchdown pass to Jimmy Graham and 74-yarder to Valdes-Scantling, taking his total for six TDs on the day.
It was only the fourth time in Rodgers career as a rookie where hes accounted for six touchdowns in a single game.
Raiders backup QB Mike Glennon replaced Carr in crap time and threw a touchdown that is second to complete the scoring.
The Packers (6-1) confront two AFC West street tests, first playing the Patrick Mahomes-less Chiefs, and also the unsatisfactory LA Chargers.
Oakland (3-3) finally finish their long road stretch if they head to Houston to face the Texans second week, before they head home to host the Lions in Week Nine.
